The American Institute for Conservation has subgroups focusing on particular specialties or topics within the organization that members may join. Led by volunteer leaders, they contribute to our newsletter, conduct sessions at our annual meeting, and develop resources.

Architecture Specialty Group

The Architecture Specialty Group is for professionals interested in the conservation of immovable properties such as buildings, monuments, and outdoor sculpture.

Book & Paper Group

The Book and Paper Group is for professionals interested in the conservation of paper materials, art on paper, books, manuscripts, and library material.

Conservators in Private Practice Group

The Conservators in Private Practice group is for professionals interested in or working in private practice conservation businesses.

The Contemporary Art Network is for professionals interested in working with contemporary art.

Electronic Media Group

The Electronic Media Group is for professionals interested in the conservation and display of time-based media artworks—which include modern and contemporary artworks involving video, audio, film, slides, software, electronics, and performance—and other works of cultural heritage that employ historic or emerging audiovisual media, digital media, and electronic technologies.
