Greeting from IWG,
The AIC Annual Meeting will be in Albuquerque, NM May 3-7, 2027. May 2027 feels really far away at the moment, but now is the time to be planning!
We are going to have an excellent imaging program, and you are going to want to be there! And if you are going to be there, you might as well be a part of the program. And if you are going to be a part of the program, you need to submit your abstract by September 30! (That deadline is less than two weeks away.)
What could you submit an abstract for?
Imaging Tips Lunch Session
This session focuses on practical, cost-effective, and creative solutions for imaging-related challenges and projects that folks can walk away with and easily try back home. These presentations are informal, short (5-7min) presentations on imaging tips, tricks, and tools.
*Note that abstracts for the tips are due at the same time as the formal presentation abstracts which is new this year!
Specialty/Interest Session: In-situ Photogrammetry for Site-Specific Sites and Monumental Objects - Joint Session (IWG and Architectural Specialty Group)
This joint session focuses on scale and in situ photogrammetry, with presentations that provide practical setups, workflows, and solutions for imaging architectural spaces and elements, buildings and sites, or monumental objects in less-than-ideal capture environments.
Thematic Concurrent Session: Imaging and Building Trust
Following the overall conference theme, this session seeks to examine how imaging and conversations around imaging can aid in building trust.
Longer descriptions for each of these sessions are included on the AIC Annual Meeting website (https://www.culturalheritage.org/events/annual-meeting/current-meeting/call-for-submissions).
Please note that there is one submission form. You will need to create an account on the submission portal to access the form. You can begin a submission and save it to return later. However, you must complete the form and submit it for your abstract or proposal to be considered. For more helpful tips, please refer to the submission instructions.
