Funding Opportunities

FAIC and AIC offers scholarship and stipend programs that provide partial funding to a limited number of individuals (roughly 30 of the 200 plus speakers at a typical Annual Meeting). Requests for funding should be made while submitting a proposal (in the speaker information section). Requests for funding will not impact your abstract selection. Given the limited amount of funding available, please only request funding consideration if you will not be receiving funding through your institution or other sources.

  • Scholarship award and stipend notifications will be sent via email in January to all speakers who have been selected to receive funding.
  • Please note that scholarships and stipends are considered taxable income by the United States Internal Revenue Service.
  • AIC is NOT able to provide honorariums or travel support to most Annual Meeting speakers. We do show our gratitude for your contributions to the Annual Meeting by providing a lower speaker registration rate.

Funding Timeline

  • September 30: Call for all abstracts and proposals closes; funding requests should be indicated in submission
  • December 15: Applications for funding deadline
  • January: Funding decisions shared before January 31
  • February: Signed letter and W-9 or W-8 forms due
  • March: All payments have been disbursed
