Hi Erin,
Thanks for reaching out to the C2C Care Community! I'm not sure about the longevity of the labels for the Dymo label maker, but the main thing that seems to limit what ends up in permanent storage is the adhesive on the label. We use some of the Avery labels applied to the outside of archival boxes, which are convenient because you can buy them in a variety of sizes and reuse the sheet through the printer as needed. I tried to look around on the Oddy test Wiki page (Materials Search Page) for Dymo specifically and couldn't find anything. Does Dymo provide the labels as well, or is that something that you would buy separately? It's possible that a different company that has passed the Oddy test makes labels that could work.
My final comment would be that the label would only be used for labeling archival housings or boxes for the objects, if you're looking for solutions for numbering the pieces themselves, there are some great threads and suggestions here (C2C Care Thread) and here (Labelling Collections).
Best,
Liz

Subject: Label makers?
Hello Friends!
Have any of you used label makers for your collections and box labeling? I'm looking into the Dymo brand but am unsure about the labels being archivally sound, I.e. is thermal okay? will they fall off the boxes at some point?, etc.
Any suggestions or advice you can offer is greatly appreciated !
