Hello Carolyn,
As the acting C2C Care community monitor, I'd like to thank you for posting this question to the community. I've gathered some resources for you, including the thread from a similar question that was posted to this community in 2022. Community members are invited to share their recommendations and techniques for protecting large, freestanding objects from seismic activity.
Earthquake Strap thread from 2022 the article referenced by Laura Abraczinskas begins of pg. 59 of the linked pdf.
C2C hosted an Earthquake Preparedness webinar earlier this year. Links to the recording and webinar resources are below:
WAAC Newsletter on Seismic Disaster Planning describes a method for securing large, freestanding collection objects.

Subject: Large object earthquake stabilization in storage?
What is a good way to secure larger objects such as furniture in storage to protect it from earthquake damage?
I'm getting a new collections storage container outfitted. Our other two have shelves, so we can secure objects with netting, but this one will be entirely open so we can store the larger items. I'm thinking perhaps some tie down loops on the walls?
Any suggestions and experience welcome. We are in an earthquake prone area, so this is important.
