  • 1.  Recomendation for Preventive Conservation reading/text

Posted on behalf of Yuri Yanchyshyn, who may not be a member of this group.

Yuri is looking for a textbook or guidelines to preventive conservation that he can include in a reading list to be distributed to participants in a lecture he will give to Ukrainian conservators and museum professionals on Friday.

I have my longstanding sources but I thought I'd ask this group as you-all may have a better sense of what's new and terrific than I.

The source should be easily available -- downloadable from the Internet or available for purchase from an international bookseller.

    Thanks for your attention.

    Hi all-

If anyone has good (free) guides that might be useful in this case feel free to share. I would be amiss in not recommending the C2C Care Webinar and Course Archives which included many free lectures and resources guides on various preventative subjects. Thanks!

These are probably on your list already, but just in case, Canadian Conservation Institute has excellent free basic online resources for preventive conservation on their website, all of which are available in English and French. In particular, look at:

Preventive conservation guidelines for collections - Canada.ca

Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) Notes - Canada.ca
