Hello,
My name is Lisa Isley; I am a graduate student in the MA Preventive Conservation program at Northumbria University. As part of my dissertation, I am conducting a survey directed at individuals in a leadership role that involves caring for collections at a North American cultural heritage Institution (museum or gallery).
Cultural heritage institutions are evolving and adapting to engage with wider audiences from different perspectives to remain relevant and this is affecting how curatorship and conservation are being approached.
This survey aims to explore common practices as well as innovative and unusual approaches to the care and use of collections. This will be done by investigating the duties and responsibilities of conservators and curators and in what ways they might be changing.
If you or someone you know is interested in participating please follow the link below:
"Reviewing the Roles and Responsibilities of Conservation Staff in Cultural Institutions":
The survey will be open for two weeks. Personal data will be anonymized for the purposes of the dissertation.
Data will be stored on a secure online server at Northumbria University and a password-protected personal computer. All personal data will be destroyed within 6 months of the completion of the survey.
