With a joint appointment in Anthropology, Caitlin O'Grady comes to UCLA with a rich history of research, practice, and teaching in archaeological conservation and conservation science. Her most recent research has investigated the co-development of archaeology and conservation as disciplines with particular focus on how these processes influence the social construction of expertise in these fields. She is particularly interested in the identity of historical actors in the development of archaeology and cultural heritage conservation.
