The TSG Wiki working group is excited to announce our next edit-a-thon that will focus on the Identification and Characterization of Materials Associated with Textiles page, to take place over the month of October! This page features a newly drafted outline and we're excited to add resources about all the things that can be encountered in a textile or historic dress collection - including but not limited to metal, leather and skin, keratin-based materials, wood, calcium-based materials (shell, bone etc.), glass, plastics, and amber and other stones.

Have you done research on any of these materials? Do you have some excellent images of condition issues or examples of the types of things a textile conservator may encounter beyond woven structures? Is there another category that should be included on this page? Please reach out to the Wiki coordinators at textilespecialtygroup.wiki@gmail.com! We welcome any contribution great or small, from a single image to a bullet point list of pros/cons or a publication that you found especially helpful (or that you wrote)! As always, we also welcome edits and updates to the current pages.

And, as a reminder, the TSG is offering complimentary membership to our specialty group as a thank you for significant contributions to this page or any other. New additions will be added all month, so check back and reach out to share your thoughts!
