  • 1.  Wall mount AC Units

    Good day everyone,

    I am seeking recommendations for a wall-mount AC unit for one of our basement storage areas.

    Our museum does not have a central HVAC system for storage, so we rely on individual wall units for climate control. One of our largest storage rooms currently lacks an AC unit, which places a significant strain on the surrounding units that try to compensate for the temperature difference.

    Any suggestions for an effective and reliable unit would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Kerry Ann! 

    I am the C2C monitor this period and thanks for your question! We cannot give recommendations for brands, and to be honest, selecting a specific AC unit is out of my expertise. However, I will reach out to some experts to see if they have some information to share with you. 

    Are there any reasons or concerns about your current system that would give you pause to just add the same units? And do you have a HVAC specialists or buildings manager at your institution, or do you rely on a vendor for installation and upkeep?

    Thank you for your  response.

    While I understand you cannot recommend specific brands, I was hoping to get some general specifications or key features to look for in a wall-mount AC unit suitable for a museum storage environment.

    Our current units are typical residential-style wall units, and I am hoping to procure a new unit that would be more appropriate for collections climate control. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
