The C2C Care Community is fortunate to be monitored by a group of volunteer conservation professionals who answer questions directly or seek the assistance of conservators and collections care professionals who provide expert assistance. Our monitor for the next two weeks is @Elizabeth Stone.

Elizabeth is the Collections Conservator at the University of Iowa Libraries and this is her first turn as a C2C Care Monitor. Elizabeth has an an MFA from the University of Iowa and is nearly finished with an MLIS as well. During her time at the University of Iowa Libraries, she salvaged flood-damaged items from the 2008 catastrophic flood in Cedar Rapids, stabilized hundreds of volumes for digitization, and created housing for objects in the Sackner Archive of Concrete & Visual Poetry. She is also a member of IMALERT (Iowa Museums, Archives, and Libraries Emergency Reponse Team). On being a C2C Care Monitor, Elizabeth is "looking forward to connecting with colleagues at other institutions...and helping individuals or institutions navigate a collections disaster is one of the ways I like to use my knowledge to serve my community."

Our thanks to @Elizabeth Stone and to all our C2C Care Monitors. Interested in volunteering? Please email c2cc@culturalheritage.org
