The C2C Care Community is fortunate to be monitored by a group of volunteer conservation professionals who answer questions directly or seek the assistance of conservators and collections care professionals who provide expert assistance. Our monitor for the next two weeks is @Sharon Fickeissen.

As the Senior Conservation Technician at Hagley Museum and Library, Sharon provides care for collections within the Published Collections and Archives departments. In addition to treating collections materials, she assists with preventive conservation activities: the inspection of incoming collections for signs of pest infestation and mold growth, cleaning, and monitoring storage spaces, providing emergency response and recovery training, and with the preparation and mounting of small case and museum exhibits. Sharon graduated from RIT with a degree in Fine Art Photography (back when you actually developed film) and has been bench trained in book and paper conservation and holds an MA in Preventive Conservation from Northumbria University.

Our thanks to @Sharon Fickeissen and to all our C2C Care Monitors. Interested in volunteering? Please email c2cc@culturalheritage.org.
