  • 1.  Wiki password reset not working

    Hello all-

    I have tried to log into the wiki but it says that my password is incorrect. I have tried to reset it, but I did not receive an email and I waited at least 24 hours for the email. I clicked on the link for instructions about getting password help, but there was nothing written on the page.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Tara,

    I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with the Wiki's password reset notifications. This is a good opportunity to let the community know that we have had some on-going issues with the email notifications for both new users and password resets. We hoped that some recent changes on the back end had resolved this issue. But these are the kind so of problems that Bonnie and I might be unaware of unless we hear from users, so posting tech troubles to this community is a useful place (beyond a direct email to us) to highlight issues.

    I will add that one common cause of reset password issues is ensuring that you are checking the correct email account! For several years I have encouraged everyone to use a personal email address rather than work for their wiki sign ups. The only real use for our email on the site is to facilitate password resets and when people change email address with a change of work then we have to do a change of address before a reset.
