How do we ensure that we will still be able to understand, access and use critical information and cultural artifacts in the future? The proliferation and growing complexity of both media formats and media channels creates new challenges to this basic societal need. This session will explore current techniques under development by GLAM professionals to meet these challenges - esp. in the world of digital preservation.
Joanna Fleming has over a decade of experience in the acquisition of digital moving image collections and audiovisual digital preservation working at both the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia and the National Archives of Australia. In her current role as the Digital Curation Specialist at the State Library of New South Wales, she has played a key role in the development of end to end workflows for born digital collections for both archival and published material.

ng is the Art Gallery of NSW's first time-based art conservator to work on a dedicated project addressing the outstanding and key issues of the time-based art collection. Previously, she has worked as such notable institutions as The Biennale of Sydney, Museum of Contemporary Art and The National Archives of Australia. In 2017
Asti
began postgraduate research in the form of a PhD at the University of Canberra.
Sarah-Jane Rennie is the Head of Collections Care at Sydney Living Museums (The Historic Houses Trust), NSW. In this role she is responsible for the management of the SLM's objects based collection, located across more than twelve properties. She has been a board member of ArtsTraining NSW and Accessible Arts and was a member of the National Standards Taskforce for the museum and gallery sector.
