In partnership with the American Industrial Hygiene Association Museum and Cultural Heritage Industry Working Group, the CIPP will be hosting a webinar: “The Benefits to Networking between Conservators in Private Practice and Industrial Hygiene Local Sections.” The presentation will include an overview of Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) and how collaborating with Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH) can benefit conservators working in private practice. Examples of potential benefits of a partnership between our professions include (but are not limited to) resources for emergency response, materials testing (e.g. toxic collections, research), lab safety assessments, partnering with OEHS professionals for projects bids involving lead or asbestos abatement.
This presentation will be geared towards conservators working in private practice, but those working in institutions, particularly those who hire contract conservators, will also find the session informative.
