Object Specialty Group Speaker Stipend

The Object Specialty Group (OSG) offers speaker stipends in the amount of $500 to help defray costs for members who are presenting at the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) Annual Meeting. Stipends will be reviewed by an awards committee and may prioritize students and recent graduates.  Preference may be given to applicants who have not received funding within the past three years. Stipends may be used for transportation, lodging, meals, and registration.

Criteria for Review

  • Applicant must be a member of the Objects Specialty Group (OSG)
  • Applicant must be speaking at the Annual Meeting
  • Budget information must demonstrate financial need
  • Two references
  • Completeness of application illustrating desired professional development outcomes and expected individual contributions to the field

Application Process

The process of applying is managed through an online system. You will be prompted to login to the system using a login ID and password (use your AIC login information).

Four sections of the application:

  1. Applicant information
  2. Project information
  3. Reference information *
  4. Budget information

*References will receive an email upon completion of application to a brief form regarding their support for the application. Recommendations submitted will not be visible to the applicant.

You can save and return to your application later to complete. When you are satisfied with your responses, “save and finalize” to submit your application. Once the application has been submitted, you cannot return to edit the form.

Final Report

A blog post must be submitted to egoergen@culturalheritage.org within 30 days of the Annual Meeting. Final reports are required to be eligible for future funding and may be posted on digital platforms.
