  • 1.  ANH Wiki pages update

    Hello archaeological conservators,
The Archaeological Conservation pages on the AIC wiki are getting an update. Since those pages were created, the wiki platform has evolved, and now it has new superpowers. Restructuring our information solves the problem of duplicate information living in multiple locations. It also makes it easy for us to link to relevant pages in other specialty groups, like the objects treatment pages and architecture pages, and allows other groups to easily link to ours.

The restructure is ongoing. But (you saw this coming) right now, there's already so much opportunity to contribute your knowledge and expertise to the archaeological conservation hive mind! Some of you have already agreed to write or update sections. THANK YOU. But there's still so many places for the rest of you to add to the mighty power of our shared knowledge base. Take a quick look at these two pages:

    https://www.conservation-wiki.com/wiki/Archaeological_Conservation
    https://www.conservation-wiki.com/wiki/Archaeological_Objects

(Site and architecture conservators, I would add a link to the Archaeological Sites page, but... it doesn't exist yet, because we don't have any content. We only have a sad, blank section under the Archaeological Sites heading. You can be the change!)

Any topic, even those that aren't specifically marked as seeking contributions, will benefit from your collaboration, and we can add other topics, too. If you're up for contributing your expertise on, basically, anything, there's two ways to go about it.
    1. Become a wiki editor - it's easy! : https://www.conservation-wiki.com/wiki/Contribute_to_the_Objects_Wiki
    2. Contact me - I can put content into the wiki for you.

Also: take a look at the references lists at the bottom of those pages. That's right - most of our references are a decade old, or two decades, or three... maybe we should update them. Anyone with recent relevant references, let me know. Sure, send me the info for your own recent publications! Let's put them on the wiki!

    Thanks, all.
