Thank you for being part of our Connecting to Collections Care community. This has been a turbulent, fast-changing time for C2C Care.
As we have shared in the C2C Care community recently, we have not been able to access our Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant funding in support of C2C Care since the DOGE takeover of IMLS a few weeks ago. We want to thank an anonymous donor and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation for stepping in to support C2C Care in this critical time. This support has saved programming and allowed us to continue work, but does not replace the sustained funding we have lost access to. If you're able to join them in supporting C2C Care, please consider donating.
We will be able to present at least 5 more webinars this year and are working now to focus our priorities for C2C Care. We can't do this without your input! Please fill out this survey about which C2C Care resources you use most frequently and value most: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/C7DYGPJ We want to make sure our priorities align with our community's needs.
Another crucial way you can support C2C Care right now is through being an advocate. If you have representation in Congress, please let them know about how lost and inaccessible funding for agencies like IMLS impacts you. You can also share information on your personal social media and professional networks about how the changes to these agencies is affecting you. We're also asking you to share why C2C Care is important to you and how it helps you and your community: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/95ZXYVB This will help us make stronger advocacy tools we can share with you.
We know many of our community members are also facing funding losses, deep uncertainty, and concerns about access to needed resources. Thank you for your dedication to caring for cultural heritage despite these challenges. FAIC will continue to do all it can to continue to serve small and mid-size collecting institutions and maintain this community of professionals.
