Interesting topic. At our museum we don't have any air conditioning, but we keep a number of fans going with open windows (plus keeping windows with direct sunlight closed). It wasn't until the last few years that the heat has become so oppressive in our building but we've never closed because of it. Our Board has given our director more leeway in determining when she can close the building due to weather (usually snowstorms for us), maybe it's something that can be decided at the director's discretion?
