Balboa Art Conservation Center is happy to announce the launch of the California Inclusive Preservation Program (CIPP)! This initiative will bring FREE collections care training for the caretakers of nonprofit collections in California via virtual and in-person convenings throughout the state.
There are three ways to participate:
CIPP (virtual) Lectures (applications open Jan 23, 2025)
CIPP (in-person) Workshops (applications open Apr 2, 2025)
CIPP Cohort 📣 NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS📣 : Deadline Jan 27, 2025
While open to all California-based collections caretakers, BACC encourages applications from those working with small and midsized collections and caretakers from organizations and communities that have been systemically under-resourced and lack access to training, resources, and networks. We encourage applications from individuals serving underrepresented communities including but not limited to Black, Indigenous, People of Color, rural, and veteran groups.
Through CIPP, we aim to provide accessible museum-quality collections care training, create a supportive network for diverse collections care professionals, and support equal and inclusive access to collections care resources for the many diverse cultural collections that make up our national cultural heritage.
BACC is able to offer this valuable capacity building opportunity to eligible participants free of cost thanks to the generous support of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the California Arts Council, and the Prebys Foundation.
We are offering a virtual info session on January 14th at 12:30 PT: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/_f0ENcBaQImPPWIUrC8GcQ
