Leveraging Systems Thinking to Dismantle Systemic Racism in Conservation
Hosted by Anisha Gupta and Joelle Wickens
Please join us for an online discussion of our latest JAIC article "Leveraging Systems Thinking to Dismantle Systemic Racism in Conservation." This article takes on big topics and is written from our perspective. We want to hear other perspectives, stimulate discussion, ask hard questions, fill in history gaps, and brainstorm ideas for change.
We'll have two discussion sessions, on October 16 and November 20 from 1-2p ET.
At the October discussion, you don't need to read the article in advance. We'll start the meeting with a brief summary of the paper, and then move into discussion generated by participant questions and comments. We'll record the summary of the article but not the discussion.
At the November session, we ask participants to read the article in advance and be prepared for in-depth discussion. This session will be limited to 20 spots.
Everyone is welcome - you don't need to be an AIC member to attend. We invite participants from all career stages, with a variety of training backgrounds, and whether or not you identify as a conservator.
We invite everyone to join us in furthering the work, and we'd love to talk about ways people can join in and contribute.
Please register in advance:
October 16th registration
November 20th registration
And please share with your networks - this link is shareable outside of AIC members. Thank you!
