Happy Earth Day!
What creative uses, reuses, repurposes, etc. have you come up with for scraps or other discards generated by your conservation work? In addition to stockpiles of larger scraps that are still usable, I try to find uses for smaller scraps that others might discard.
I'm interested in other folks' ideas for keeping scraps and such from being immediately discarded even if it's just one more use before it heads to the garbage or recycle bin.
Examples:
- Obviously, binders board scraps can be used to make all kinds of containers.
- Scraps of bookcloth can be used to clean excess adhesive off of a brush and reduce the water necessary to rinse out the bristles.
- The inner cardboard from rolls of 3M double-sided tape can be adhered in a stack with a cardstock or matboard base and decorated for a fun tool or pen holder.
