Fabricators play a significant role in the creation of modern and contemporary artworks and are often responsible for their preservation. Conservators rely heavily on fabricators’ expertise and material knowledge for the preservation and care of many artworks. Master printmaker Pam Paulson, outdoor sculpture fabricator Paul Amaral, and neon fabricator Matt Dilling will share their experiences with materials, techniques, and collaborations, providing a voice largely missing from object histories and conservation conversations.
