Paintings Award

The Paintings Specialty Group Award, given every other year, recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of paintings conservation and includes a one-year membership to AIC and the Paintings Specialty Group.

Deadline: December 15

Criteria

  • Candidates must be a member of the Paintings Specialty Group.
  • Outstanding service includes mentoring pre-program or graduate interns and fellows, teaching in a formal academic setting, workshops or lectures, paintings-related research or publications, serving in the Paintings Specialty Group leadership, conducting outreach and advocacy, or other professional categories.

Guidelines

  • Write a letter to the Awards Committee outlining why the nominee deserves this award.
  • Collect letters from at least three additional co-sponsors.
  • Send complete nominations to awards@culturalheritage.org.

Paintings Specialty Group

Formed in 1980, the Paintings Specialty Group improves knowledge of all subjects relating to the conservation of paintings, promotes proficiency and skill in the practice of paintings conservation, and disseminates related technical and professional information. The group currently has more than 700 members from the United States and 17 countries throughout  the world.
