Andrea Chevalier is the Senior Paintings Conservator and Director of Conservation at ICA-Art Conservation. She has been with the ICA since 1996. Ms. Chevalier received her M.A. in art history and Diploma in Conservation from New York University, Institute of Fine Arts, Conservation Center. After graduate training, she spent nine years interning and working as a paintings conservator at several museum in Germany. While in Germany, she also gained considerable experience working on polychrome and monochrome wood sculpture from the Medieval to Baroque periods. Ms. Chevalier has given numerous talks and workshops on traditional painting materials, the history of conservation and specific conservation projects. Ms. Chevalier has extensive experience working on large format murals including their deinstallation, treatment and reinstallation.
