Alliance for Response - Ohio (AR-OH)

The AR-OH(Alliance for Response-Ohio), formerly the Northeast Ohio Alliance for Response (NEOAFR) is an organization of individuals from not-for-profit cultural institutions and allied professionals and volunteers that provides planned events and opportunities for education and outreach. NEOAFR also shares information with its mailing list and the communities it serves in support of disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and continuity of operations.

NEOAFR recently worked to provide the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management (CCOEM) with a county-by-county list of cultural and performing arts organizations to provide emergency first responders with up-to-date information. 

If you work at a gallery, library, museum, archive, theater, dance company, performing arts organization, historical society or a historic home or village, come join the conversation as a part of the Northeast Ohio Alliance for Response (NEOAFR).

Where can you turn when you want to plan for or respond to a disaster?  Do you know what to do if your institution has a mold outbreak?  Has a pipe burst on a long weekend?  Has a fire on the roof during a renovation project?  Do you where your gas turnoff is?  Have you met your first responders?  Have you selected who on your staff would be the media contact after a disaster?  Do you have forms for tracking your expenses?  Do you know how to salvage wet photographs?  Wet paintings? Are you overwhelmed yet?

The Northeast Ohio Alliance for Response (NEOAFR) has loaded a sturdy, cased iPad with key, concise information that institutions can borrow for free.  With a microgrant from the Foundation for Advancement in Conservation (FAIC), the professional assistance of an outstanding advisory board, and the hard work of ICA painting conservator and National Heritage Responder, Wendy Partridge and ICA's summer pre-program intern, Katie Love, from the College of Wooster. This webinar will introduce the project to you.  Attendees will also have access to the materials included in the packet which they can load onto their own iPad or tablet.  Special Guest Elaina Gregg from the Foundation for Advancement in Conservation will debut their soon-to-be-released online salvage wheel application.
