Galveston–Houston

With Tropical Storm Don threatening the Gulf Coast, leaders from the cultural and emergency management communities in southeastern Texas met at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, for the Galveston–Houston Alliance for Response Forum on July 29, 2011. Speakers from FEMA Region VII, AIC-CERT, and local emergency management, among others, spoke of the importance of emergency preparedness for cultural institutions in this historically hurricane prone region.

Dallas

The first Alliance for Response forum was held in Dallas on November 14, 2003. The network that grew out of the kick-off forum, the State of Texas Alliance for Response Team (START), aimed to raise awareness of partnerships that exist between cultural heritage, emergency management, and first responder communities in order to increase safety and mitigate effects from disaster.
