Joanna Fleming has over a decade of experience in the acquisition of digital moving image collections and audiovisual digital preservation working at both the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia and the National Archives of Australia. In her current role as the Digital Curation Specialist at the State Library of New South Wales, she has played a key role in the development of end to end workflows for born digital collections for both archival and published material.How do we ensure that we will still be able to understand, access and use critical information and cultural artifacts in the future? The proliferation and growing complexity of both media formats and media channels creates new challenges to this basic societal need. This session will explore current techniques under development by GLAM professionals to meet these challenges - esp. in the world of digital preservation.
