    Hello everyone,

We are about to sign a contract with Conserv. We are very excited, however, my Director was interested in hearing from others on their experience with these data loggers. If you do not use these products, do you prefer another company?

    Thanks!

    Stephanie

    Hi all-

A quick reminder that while we welcome to hear from the C2C Care Community about others experience with data loggers and environmental companies C2C Care doesn't endorse any particular company. Thanks!

Way too expensive unless you need a small number of loggers. You rent the units and have to update every 3 yrs. The software is then free. I believe they are using the IPI analytics. They will not share where they got their science from.

I'm at the 2nd museum where we've had Conserv. I love them. They are expensive! Where I'm at now, we have multiple buildings and sites in different parts of the state. It saves a great deal of staff time.

Because of how they connect, you don't have to have an internet connectivity or WiFi or cell signal. So they work well in basement or old buildings with thick walls.

The pest management part allowed us to stop using a separate software.

Lastly, I've used Hobos before. At some point they die or go out of calibration. With Conserv, they just replace them.

So, I love them and am lucky enough to work in a place that can afford the large expense.

We've installed Vaisala sensors at the Met. Expensive initially, however the sensors are accurate, stabile, and can be recalibrated in house. Cost is similar to the Hanwell system, though at the time of purchase (a few years ago), we found the software and service of Vaisala to be superior. For the cost of a few years of Conserv, one can have a robust, enterprise level system, that your building engineers are more likely to trust. For cost estimation, we're at year 6 with a set of loggers we installed when deciding which system to purchase, and I suspect we will get more like 10-12 years.

The Vaisala sensors connect to a network of hubs that plug into an ethernet port so that you can see the data remotely and receive out of bounds notifications. It's my understanding that the same type of system is required for Conserv loggers.

    Hi Stephanie,

The museum I work at uses Conserv and it has been wonderful. Similar to what Linda said, the way in which they connect and gather data has kept tech issues down and has also been a time saver. We have about 11 sensors and while they are expensive, they get calibrated and are replaced if anything does go wrong. From my experience prior to getting conserv, the additional cost is worth the huge time savings on my part. Feel free to reach out if you have more detailed questions.

    Best,

    Stacey

    Hi Stephanie,

Conserv has quickly built a strong in the field. There are a number of good products for collecting data and only a couple for analyzing it. I believe that the trick to being satisfied with your chosen solution (and ensuring that your administration is supportive of your choice) is accurately matching your needs and resources with an appropriate product. If you have the time, here is a link to a the C2CCare webinar that explains the technology and gives you some information on how to evaluate your needs and the various options.
