Hi Kate:
Here is an innovative way to solve this problem. We can use an active way to control a sealed cabinet to achieve ultra low humidity such as 10%.
The benefits are obvious:
1, You don't have to check the cabinet time after time to ensure that the silica gel still works well.
2, Ultra low humidity can prevent most of the metal disease from spreading. So it will be much safer than silica gel solution.

Subject: dry storage cabinet suggestions and advice
Hello All,
We are renovating our collections spaces and I have the opportunity to purchase several cabinets for dry storage of metals. Does anyone have any ideas or advice. I have trust issues with technology and am tempted to get some well sealed cabinets and use silica gel, but please try to convince me if there is a better way! Thanks in advance.
