Hi IWG,
I'll be a visiting professor at NYU's Conservation Center this Spring (2024) and will be teaching the Imaging course to the conservation students. As part of this, I am looking to upgrade the current photography wall easel that is used for photographing easel paintings. The current one is made by R&R Copy Systems and is the type shown at this link. The students say that paintings don't feel secure and that it takes 2 people to lower the top canvas holder as it's quite wide.
I am currently looking for a non-motorized wall easel. If you feel that motorized is the way to go, I'd be open to looking at those as well. Alternatively, if any of you have experience with reworking an R&R Copy Systems wall easel to improve the user experience, I'd be glad to hear about that!
Thank you and happy holidays to all of you!
