    Hello,

I am looking to buy backpack vaccums for the museum i work at and am wondering if anyone has any experience with the Makita backpack vaccum. It has all the requirements i am looking for but I am wondering how it holds up in practice, for example with the batteries and suction strength.
Hopefully someone here has already tested the Makita vacuumer :)

    Hi Caroline,
We have two of them and have been using them at Cantor for several years now with no problems.
Our custodial staff has corded commercial vacuums for general gallery and office use. We have variable speed Nilfisk vacuums for conservation and spot cleaning in storage as well.
We purchased these primarily for installation use although they can be used for cleaning sculpture (where speed control or suction is less critical). We bought them because their portability is a safety improvement, especially when used on a lift or ladder. The batteries are interchangeable with some of our other cordless tools but I keep the originals separated and labeled so they are always ready.
Please contact me directly if you have any other specific questions.
Obviously, this does not represent an endorsement by C2C Care, but is simply an individual member's response to an inquiry. One of the best reasons to be involved in this kind of forum actually!
    Cheers,
    Ashley
