    I need advice for labeling cowhides. 

    What I'm finding in resources on labeling leather is to use a tag put through a preexisting hole or an appendage, or sew on a label using preexisting holes. These don't have preexisting holes; and no place to tie on a label.

    Chinese tissue and methyl cellulose glue (old-style wallpaper paste). Use for numbering any natural fiber from leather to basketry.
