The Metropolitan Museum of Art has updated its Oddy Test Protocol on the AIC wiki to reflect a change in the material used to suspend the metal coupons in the testing jar. This new method uses stainless steel coupon holders available for purchase from Asterisk, Inc to replace the 3D printed nylon holders. Unlike the nylon holders, the stainless steel version can be reused without concerns of contamination from prior tests, ultimately reducing costs and waste associated with testing.

Additionally, a 3D printed custom torque socket for tightening the jar lids is also now available for purchase from Shapeways.com.

If you have questions about the change or the protocol in general, please reach out to Alayna Bone (alayna.bone@metmuseum.org) or Eric Breitung (eric.breitung@metmuseum.org).
