Biography

Julia Sybalsky is an objects conservator at the American Museum of Natural History specializing in Natural Science Collections. Julia's work supports the ongoing care of science collections and materials on exhibit, as well as the mitigation of risks to collections throughout the museum. She manages day-to-day lab operations and oversees ongoing conservation research projects. She is an active participant in the Materials Selection and Specification Working Group, the Museum Pests Working Group, and regularly participates in professional conferences of the American Institute for Conservation and the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections. She is a graduate of The Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where she has taught as an adjunct professor.
