Hello colleagues -
My colleague Jody Hanson is teaching a one-day intensive intro to mountmaking workshop on Saturday 3/15 at Brooklyn Metalworks. Please share with students, colleagues, artists, or anyone you think might be interested in learning more about mountmaking. See the posting below:
Have you ever wondered how museums display 3D objects that appear to be floating on a wall or are supported at complex angles? This one day intensive workshop will introduce you to the art installation technique called Mountmaking. You will learn about different Mountmaking methods for safely displaying art works and culturally significant objects. Students will have an opportunity to form a plate mount, by using basic hand tools. No formal metalworking experience is required, but it is a plus.
Class size 4 – 8 students.
Material costs are built into the class (materials and tools will be provided).
