Good museum security does not need to break the bank. This webinar will cover risk management strategies to reduce the likelihood of collections theft and vandalism. It will focus on tools to identify risk and low-cost procedures to control access and protect collections. Attendees will learn how to plan a comprehensive security system and control keys to collections storage and exhibit spaces.

Since 2015, Dara Shore has assisted in the development of museum emergency planning, fire protection, and security guidance in the National Park Service Museum Handbook, Part I: Museum Collections, a premier online resource for collections management policy and best practice. Shore has also participated in the creation of comprehensive museum risk assessment tools and virtual training on collections management fundamentals and museum fire protection. Shore has an M.A. in Museum Studies from the George Washington University.
