The TSG Wiki working group is excited to announce that our next wiki edit-a-thon will take place over the month of June and focus on the Mechanical Cleaning page! This page already includes detailed information about cleaning methods for archaeological textiles and we thank Kara Fox for her contribution.
This month, we would like to expand the page to include additional mechanical cleaning methods. Do you have a favorite vacuuming technique? Have you found a tool that's perfect for removing accretions? Write a paragraph or send us a picture! We would like this page to become a repository for all the creative techniques and tools that conservators have adapted to suit the particular challenges that each textile presents.
Please reach out to Jackie and Kate, TSG Wiki coordinators, at textilespecialtygroup.wiki@gmail.com - we welcome any contribution great or small, from a single image to a bullet point list of pros/cons or a publication that you found especially helpful (or that you wrote)! As always, we also welcome edits and updates to the current pages.
New contributions will be added all month, so check back and reach out to share your thoughts!
