We're sorry to report that we received notification that the Institute of Museum and Library Services grant that funds Connecting to Collections Care has been terminated. As we had previously updated, we had not been able to access funding since DOGE dramatically cut staff in March.
We are extremely grateful to an anonymous donor and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, who have stepped in to provide major support. Many members of this community have also made donations. We want to thank all of you. This support has allowed us to complete the planned programming in the grant and given us time to explore the future of the program. If you're able to join them in supporting C2C Care, please consider donating.
We are presenting four webinars through August but need your input to help us focus our work moving forward. Please fill out this survey about which C2C Care resources you use most frequently and value most: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/C7DYGPJ Thank you to everyone who has already participated!
We ask for your continued advocacy as well. If you have representation in Congress, please let them know how the termination of grants from agencies like IMLS impacts you. This is also a crucial time, as Congress has begun the fiscal year 2026 (FY26) appropriations process (the process of funding for the Federal government). Despite the Executive Orders, staffing cuts, and grant terminations, it is very important that Congress continues to provide funding to IMLS, NEH, and NEA. We encourage you to write to your members of Congress to ask them to support funding for FY26.
You can also still share with us why C2C Care is important to you and how it helps you and your community: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/95ZXYVB This will help us make stronger advocacy tools we can share with you.
We will maintain access to the webinar archive and the community as long as possible. We are not sure what the future of programming looks like for C2C Care. But we know we will do all we can to help connect you to resources and colleagues as you serve your communities and collections. Thank you for being part of our community.
