Welcome to the Laser Discussion Group, established under the umbrella of Research and Technical Studies (RATS). The goal for this group is to advance the use of laser technologies within art and heritage conservation. The group will facilitate communication and collaboration between communities using lasers in conservation interventions or treatments. We plan to engage in discussions on technical (i.e., sourcing, use, and maintenance of laser equipment) and practical (i.e., user experience and advice) topics. You can also access resources, such as a comprehensive bibliography of publications on the use of lasers in conservation, introductory videos on laser cleaning and laser safety and updates on laser workshops and presentations. We intend to expand these resources in the coming months and welcome your thoughts and questions.
