Carola Schueller graduated from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim with a German "Diplom" (equivalent to MA) in Conservation of Furniture and Wooden Objects. Prior to graduate school, she trained as a cabinet maker and worked as a conservation trainee in museums and in private practice workshops in Germany. After graduation, Carola was a Sherman Fairchild Fellow at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Subsequently, she was employed as a furniture conservator at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London for 4 years. After relocating back to Boston Carola started her own conservation business concentrating on cross sectional examination of historic paint and gilding and the conservation treatment of furniture, wooden objects and frames. In March 2016 she joined the Preservation Society of Newport County in Rhode Island as a furniture and objects conservator.
