Claudia Chemello is Principal and Senior Conservator of Terra Mare Conservation, a private conservation practice specializing in the conservation of archaeological, architectural fine art and industrial cultural heritage. Prior to founding Terra Mare Conservation, she served as Senior Conservator for the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology at the University of Michigan and as a Conservator for the Agora Excavations at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. She has worked on numerous cultural heritage projects across the Middle East, Central America, Australia, and the Mediterranean.
Claudia has an undergraduate degree in archaeology and Egyptology from Macquarie University and a graduate degree in materials conservation from the University of Western Sydney, Australia. A Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation, she was a 2025-2026 Rome Prize Fellow at the American Academy in Rome.
