Biography

Ghazaleh Rabiei graduated from Queen’s University in 2012 with a Masters degree in Art Conservation, specializing in Object Conservation. She also studied jewellery design and metalsmithing from 2003 to 2008, earning her Bachelor’s Degree from OCAD in Material Art and Design. Rabiei possesses a thorough background in practicing both conservation of artifacts and museum collection care. Her educational and professional backgrounds have provided her with an excellent knowledge of art history, museum studies, and art conservation standards. In the field of art conservation and collection care, Rabiei has worked at the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) in Ottawa, Canada, and has completed an internship at Western Australian Museum in Perth, Australia. As the Collections Manager at the Aga Khan Museum, Rabiei is the custodian of the Museum’s Collection and is responsible for proper collections care and preventative conservation. She ensures the welfare of the objects by avoiding and minimizing deterioration and loss.
