Keara Teeter completed her M.S. degree at the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation, with a specialization in paintings conservation. She works in the Lunder Conservation Center of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, as SAAM's Meisel Conservator of Modern & Contemporary American Paintings. Keara currently serves as President of the Washington Conservation Guild and is an active member of the American Institute of Conservation (former ECPN Professional Education and Training Officer), International Institute for Conservation, and International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art.
