Keara Teeter


Biography

Keara Teeter completed her graduate studies at Winterthur/University of Delaware, earning a M.S. in Art Conservation with a specialization in paintings. Since 2018, she has held multiple positions at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, most recently as the Meisel Conservator of Modern American Paintings. In this role, Keara cares for the modern and contemporary paintings collection, including the 22 Photorealism acquisitions gifted by Louis K. and Susan P. Meisel. Prior to working at SAAM's Lunder Conservation Center, she held graduate student internships at the Saint Louis Art Museum and Dallas Museum of Art. Keara currently serves as President of the Washington Conservation Guild and is an active member of the American Institute of Conservation (former ECPN Professional Education and Training Officer), International Institute for Conservation, and International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art.
