Biography

Laura Richter Le is a paintings conservator specializing in modern and contemporary art. She works as Assistant Paintings Conservator at the Williamstown Art Conservation Center, owns a private studio in Vermont (Green Mountain Art Conservation), and is a Special Projects Conservator (contract position) at Modern Art Conservation in NYC. She earned her MS in Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works and her MA in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, completing her fourth year internship at the Museum of Modern Art. During her graduate studies, she was a Dedalus Foundation Fellow, completing a research project at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Her conservation experience includes work at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, the Saint Louis Art Museum, NYU’s Villa La Pietra in Florence, and Art Conservation Solutions, a private studio in NYC. As an undergraduate at the University of Notre Dame, Laura worked in a nuclear physics laboratory conducting Raman Spectroscopy, X-ray Fluorescence, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy analysis. This interest in materiality continues to inform her work today. She currently serves as Communications Chair for the Paintings Specialty Group (PSG).
