Mary F. Striegel is retired from the Chief of Materials Conservation at the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training. She headed up basic and applied research that focuses on evaluation of preservation treatments for preventing damage to cultural resources. She undertook a wide range of projects from studying the removal graffiti from cultural heritage to developing new stone consolidants based on emerging nanotechnologies.
