Mary Wilcop is the Senior Manager of Conservation and Objects Conservator at Carnegie Museum of Art. She was previously a Postgraduate Associate in the objects conservation department of the Yale University Art Gallery. Prior to that, she was a third-year graduate fellow at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C., where she worked on a variety of historical artifacts including recording equipment and sound objects from the Thomas Edison laboratory. Mary holds a B.A. with Honors in History and History of Art from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, a B.A. in Art History and Archaeology from the Université de Paris-Sorbonne IV, and a Master I with distinction in Museum Studies from the École du Louvre, Paris. She studied Objects Conservation at the Patricia H. and Richard E. Garman Art Conservation Department at the State University of New York College at Buffalo.
