Melanie D. Sanford is both the Chief Conservator, and Principal, for Conserving Threads a boutique art conservation firm in Dallas, Texas. She began her path with a Bachelor of Science from Baylor University and an MS in Textile Conservation from the University of Rhode Island. She completed an internship at the Textile History Museum’s Regional Conservation Center, located in Lowell, Massachusetts. After her internship, she continued to work at the Center for several years in the capacity of Assistant Conservator. In 2003, Melanie came back to Texas, whereupon she founded Conserving Threads.
