Roger Williams is the head of conservation at Brown University Library and the John Carter Brown Library. He spent four years as the book and paper conservator at Northwestern University Libraries, where he was formerly the conservation fellow. He earned his MA in conservation studies from West Dean College and the University of Sussex. He began his career in books and preservation at the Rare Book School at the University of Virginia.
