Shelley Reisman Paine received her Masters of Science degree from the Winterthur/University of Delaware/ Program in Art Conservation. She has been employed or consulted at large and small museums including the Field Museum, Cleveland Museum of Art, Birmingham Museum of Art, Bridgestone Museum, Indianapolis Children's Museum, The Hermitage - Home of Andrew Jackson, Library of Congress, Vatican Library, J. B. Speed Art Museum, and Wake Forest University's Museum of Anthropology. Her presentations, articles, and video have been presented and/or published by the American Institute for Conservation, International Institute for Conservation, American Association of Museums, American Association for State and Local History, South East Museum Conference, Midweest Regional Conservation Association and other professional organizations.
Ms. Paine has served her professional community through leadership positions, committee chairmanships, and memberships in both national and international organizations. She is a Fellow in the American Institute for Conservation, received the 1999 Professional Achievement Award from the Heritage Preservation SOS! program, 2000 Betty Nixon Award, 2000 Intermuseum Council of Nashville Award of Appreciation, and the 2004 "E" Award of Excellence from the Tennessee Economic Commission on Women.
